David Chesemore photographs 1961-1968.

The David Chesemore Photographs consist of 395 color slides, most of them taken in Alaskan cities, villages, and field camps in the years 1961 through 1968 when David Chesemore was studying for a degree in wildlife management at the University of Alaska (College) and his wife Janice was associated with the Cooperative Extension Service in Fairbanks. Subjects include Anchorage, Juneau, and Nome, Alaska; the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks; the Arctic Research Lab in Barrow; field camps for a biological survey known as the Baird and Schwatka Mountain Survey (BSMS); Nunivak Island; and various villages where the Cooperative Extension Service held workshops on topics in home economics (Gambell, Mekoryuk, Napakiak, Nunapitchuk, Sleetmute, Venetie, and others). There are also photos of the Women's North American Championship Sled Dog Race (Fairbanks, Alaska, 1967).
